Euskampus Bordeaux Eguna 2026 will bring together the Cross-Border Campus community in Irún under the theme "Knitting Bridges" 15–16 October · Irún (Basque Country)
#SaveTheDate
On 15 and 16 October, the Euskampus Bordeaux Eguna 2026 will bring together the Euskampus Bordeaux Cross-Border Campus community in Irún for its annual gathering—a unique opportunity to celebrate a living campus where strong territorial roots and international openness come together and reinforce one another.
This year's theme, "Knitting Bridges", reflects a shared ambition that has grown stronger year after year. For more than fifteen years, the University of the Basque Country (EHU), the University of Bordeaux, Tecnalia, the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) and a wide network of partners across the Euroregion and Europe have been working together to build bridges, generate knowledge, create opportunities and strengthen a vibrant cross-border community.
This edition will take place in Irún, a city shaped by movement, connection and encounter, located at the heart of the muga—the Basque word for "border"—just a few steps from the historic Santiago Bridge spanning the Bidasoa River. A symbolic setting that perfectly embodies the spirit of the Cross-Border Campus. Projects that connect beyond borders Over two days, participants will discover projects that transcend geographical, disciplinary and institutional boundaries. Initiatives that bring together universities, businesses and society; foster educational innovation and employability; promote collaborative research; develop joint degrees and co-supervised doctoral theses; and strengthen international cooperation through European university alliances such as ENLIGHT.
The programme will also showcase the latest developments of the Cross-Border Cooperation Laboratories (LTCs) and highlight many of the collaborative initiatives that continue to shape the Euskampus Bordeaux ecosystem. A community that continues to grow More than an opportunity to present projects, Euskampus Bordeaux Eguna is a place to meet, exchange ideas and build new collaborations. It is a celebration of a generous, diverse and multilingual community that continues to grow by connecting people, institutions, cultures and languages, while addressing today's societal challenges through education, research and innovation.
Join us in Irún on 15 and 16 October and become part of the Euskampus Bordeaux Cross-Border Campus community.
